Upkeep of city’s trails this winter was exceptional

By Letter to the Editor on April 12, 2018.

I would like to offer a great big thank you and bouquet on behalf of myself and the thousands of trail users in the city to the City Parks Department for keeping the trails clear of snow and safe during the past severe winter season.

With above average snowfalls and below average temperatures it was a winter fit to try both man/woman and beast!

Through it all the trail maintenance crews performed with flying colours and deserve a gold medal. From Bob and Cynthia, who walk the southeast trail twice a day, to Mayor Ted Clugston, who daily walks the trails, trail users have enjoyed the physical and mental health benefits of safe and enjoyable exercise in the great outdoors.

To Todd, Randy, Scott, Debbie and her trail crews, again a big thank you for a job well done.

To steal a phrase from Winston Churchill — “Never has so much been owed by so many to so few.”
