Re: “If our society doesn’t fight ‘forces of progressive leftist evil’ then evil will win,” Jan. 5
I truly want to thank Leath Johnston for responding to my column. But I am puzzled. The letter is, to quote my friend Bill, “Éfull of sound and furyÉsignifying nothing.”
I am, apparently, the author of a “Éprogressive trance of socialist correct speakÉ” and amÉ” going to do evil to anyoneÉ(so I) had better take them to a place best suited for (my) purpose.”
The writer vows to “…fight against the forces of progressive leftist evilÉfight back, speak up and lay bare the lies and garbage that is the progressive left’s commandments.”That’s great, but what lies? What garbage?
I applaud your commitment, Leath, but I don’t know what you’re so angry about and I don’t know what I should do about it. I don’t know what “progressive leftist evil” is and am sincerely worried that I may unknowingly be foisting it upon the unsuspecting people of Alberta and Canada and dragging them to some “dark place.”
To be fair, I’m asking for some context, some facts, some examples, some substance to which I can respond. Sound and fury don’t hold up well in any discussion. That behaviour isn’t getting Mr. Trump anywhere either.
