Can’t vote for anyone on mayoral ballot

By Letter to the Editor on October 5, 2017.

For the first time in 43 years I can not vote for a mayor.

I will not vote for a mayor who knowingly drove his vehicle while under the influence, who uses his cellphone while driving, without regard for the safety of our children and who lied to the people of this city, when he said he would not run again. His word means nothing.

I am sure Mr. Raible is a nice person, but his expertise is education and if we elect another teacher, I am sure we will be run by the Board of Education. We need business people.

John Hamill is once again telling people he replies to every email he receives. Over all his years on council I sent many emails to all the aldermen/women of the day. He never once replied to any of them, until out of frustration, I sent him a message telling him that he never replies. He then sent me a reply asking me if he has to tell me everything he does and calling me a cretin (a stupid person and a person who is deformed and mentally handicapped). Nice words for his first ever reply to me and not quite becoming of an alderman. He said the fact that he had replied to this email, proves that he has replied to all of the others. That sounds a bit like Donald Trump logic.

As for the fourth candidate (whose name I can not remember) he does not have the qualifications for this office. There are many good candidates running for council and we have a chance to elect many good business people. Please make sure you take the time to vote. Please vote for just the people you would like to see on council. If you vote for any of the other candidates, you are casting a vote against the candidates you really prefer.
